Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has emphasized the need for the entire country to work together in tackling cybercrime. He stated that coordination among police officers from different states is essential. The Telangana government aims to become the top state in cyber safety.

Speaking at the inauguration of the two-day Cyber Security Conclave – SHIELD-2025, organized by the state police, the CM highlighted the challenges of cybercrimes. He pointed out that cybercrimes can happen at any time and from anywhere, making it difficult for the police to track offenders and bring them to justice. Despite these challenges, he stressed that the police must take responsibility for preventing crime.

He also mentioned the dangers of fake news on social media and economic frauds. To strengthen cyber safety, the Telangana government plans to introduce a new Cyber Security Policy and establish a Cyber Defence Centre.

He assured that the state government is committed to working with experts and IT firms to strengthen cybersecurity. Telangana is among the few states with a fully operational cybersecurity bureau and a dedicated cybercrime helpline to protect its citizens.

As part of the conclave, several panel discussions were held on topics such as tackling ransomware, phishing, and securing critical infrastructure. The discussions were moderated by Sidhu Sreedhara from AT&T, with panelists including officials from CERT-In, the Government of India, and NPCI.
