The Telangana government has approved ₹540 crore for the construction of new buildings and the restoration of historic structures at Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University (VCIWU) in Koti, Hyderabad.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that a master plan had been created to develop the university into a top institution. As part of this plan, ₹100 crore will be used to build modern infrastructure, while ₹15.5 crore will go towards restoring heritage structures.
The university is located next to the Musi River, and its main entrance will reopen once the ongoing Musi revitalization project is completed.
On March 11, 2025, Bhatti Vikramarka, along with other key officials, visited the university to inspect the current buildings and review the proposed developments.
This project is part of the government’s broader effort to preserve Telangana’s cultural heritage while enhancing educational facilities.
