Hyderabad is not just growing; it is transforming into a global technology leader. At the 32nd HYSEA National Summit and Awards, D Sridhar Babu, the Minister for Information Technology, shared a new vision for the city. He announced plans to move Hyderabad from being a back-office center to becoming a hub for Global Value Centres (GVCs). This change will make Telangana a leader in high-value innovation, advanced technology, and intellectual property creation.
For many years, Hyderabad has been a key location for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), helping international businesses with technology and business operations. Now, the city is taking the next big step. Instead of just offering services, Hyderabad will focus on innovation and technology transformation. According to Minister Sridhar Babu, GVCs will make Telangana an essential part of the global value chain by driving new technology, deep-tech research, and advanced product development.
Currently, Hyderabad is home to over 1,500 global tech companies, 1.5 million IT professionals, and 300,000 AI engineers. It is already one of the top five global outsourcing destinations and the fastest-growing GCC hub. However, as businesses shift their focus from cost-cutting to high-value research and product innovation, Telangana is ready to lead the way in deep-tech and strategic technology advancements.
