The heavy rains have caused water levels to rise in the Jurala project. The project is receiving inflows of 83,000 cusecs of water. Authorities have lifted 17 gates and are releasing 1.01 lakh cusecs of water downstream to the Srisailam dam. Due to the rising water levels in the Srisailam dam, hydel power generation has started at the Srisailam power stations. Currently, the dam is receiving inflows of 97,208 cusecs of water. The gates have not been lifted yet, and there is no outflow to Nagarjuna Sagar.
