Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the BRS government in Telangana, saying that the people of the state want a change and solid work on the ground, rather than false promises. He addressed a public meeting called ‘Praja Garjana’ and stated that the BJP is committed to improving the lives of the people in Telangana. Modi emphasized that the state needs a corruption-free government and that the BJP can bring about this change.
However, this statement has received criticism from opposition parties. CPI national general secretary K Narayana and some Congress leaders questioned why the BJP is delaying the investigation into the liquor scam involving Chief Minister K Kavitha if they are against the BRS government. They believe that Modi’s indirect attack is just a part of shadow boxing.
Modi, on the other hand, expressed his belief that people have faith in his guarantees because he fulfills them. He called for collective efforts to lead Telangana towards progress. He criticized the two families that have been running the government and accused them of turning democracy into dynasticism. According to Modi, these parties prioritize their own family’s benefits and run the state like a private limited company.
In contrast, the BJP aims to provide a better life and opportunities for the people of Telangana. Modi mentioned schemes like LPG and Mudra Yojana that have been implemented to improve the quality of life for the people, especially women. He also highlighted the increase in agricultural procurement prices after 2014 and the release of Rs 10,000 crore under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Modi criticized the BRS government for failing to provide water to farmers despite inaugurating irrigation projects. He also mentioned their failure to implement the loan waiver scheme. The Prime Minister commended the recognition of Telangana’s art and culture at the central level, citing his gift of Bidri art to the South African President. He also mentioned the launch of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana to support skill training and access to new markets for Vishwakarma artisans.
Modi referred to the recently announced ‘Sammakka Sarakka Tribal University’ and criticized the state government for delaying its establishment by not allocating land for it.
