TSRTC Workers Threaten Strike Over Pending Demands

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) workers are gearing up for a strike after their Joint Action Committee (JAC) issued a strike notice to the management. The workers, along with union leaders, gathered in significant numbers at the Bus Bhavan near RTC Cross Roads to raise their concerns.

The JAC has presented a list of 21 demands to the TSRTC management. Key issues include the merger of RTC with the state government, implementation of the 2021 Pay Revision Commission (PRC), and clearing overdue salaries. The workers also opposed the privatization of depots, which they claim is being done under the guise of introducing electric buses. They argue this move could jeopardize the stability of the corporation.

Union leaders have urged the Congress-led Telangana government to honor the promises made in its election manifesto. These promises include addressing the grievances of TSRTC employees. “We are ready to go on strike if the government does not take immediate action to resolve our demands,” warned the JAC representatives.

Frustration among workers is growing due to delays in resolving long-standing issues. They have also warned of intensified protests if no action is taken. If the government fails to intervene soon, the strike is likely to disrupt public transportation across Telangana.
