Telangana Police Deny Use of Toxic Substances in Mulugu Encounter
Telangana Police have dismissed allegations made by civil rights activists claiming that toxic substances were used during the recent encounter in Mulugu. Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender addressed these concerns and clarified the events surrounding the incident.
According to the DGP, the police were conducting a combing operation aimed at curbing Maoist activities in the area. This operation became necessary after Maoists allegedly killed tribal individuals, accusing them of acting as informants. During the operation, the police faced an attack from Maoists who were reportedly armed with advanced weapons. The officers had to respond with gunfire in self-defense.
DGP Jitender emphasized that the police are committed to protecting the public and maintaining peace in the region. He urged citizens not to believe false accusations and assured them that the department remains focused on addressing threats while prioritizing the safety of the people.
