Telangana CM Aims for Global Development and Harmony with Neighbors

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has expressed the state’s ambition to compete with the world in terms of development while maintaining friendly ties with neighboring states. Speaking at the “Country Strategic Dialogue” roundtable meeting organized by the World Economic Forum in Davos, he highlighted that Telangana shares the Krishna and Godavari rivers with its neighbors. These rivers originate in Maharashtra, flow through Telangana, and then into Andhra Pradesh. “Our first priority is to achieve development,” he emphasized.

Revanth Reddy shared the stage with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the event. He stressed that Telangana, with Hyderabad as its capital, is ready to compete on a global level. The goal, according to him, is to develop to the standards of cities like New York and Tokyo.

The Chief Minister proudly stated that Telangana, the youngest state in India, is already competing with world-class cities such as Tokyo and Singapore. Instead of focusing solely on competition with other Indian states, Telangana is aiming for recognition as a “China Plus One” destination for investment and development. He also pledged that Telangana will actively contribute to the Indian Prime Minister’s vision of transforming the country into a five trillion-dollar economy.

CM Reddy further elaborated on the state’s plans to become a one trillion-dollar economy. He noted that urbanization plays a crucial role in economic growth and outlined initiatives to promote cold storage, organic food products, meat, chicken, fish exports, and agro-allied industries across rural areas up to the state’s borders. He emphasized that Telangana’s biggest strengths are its capital city, Hyderabad, and its youthful workforce.

The Chief Minister reassured investors by highlighting Telangana’s transparent policies and sustainable development approach. He also clarified that politics will only take center stage during elections, allowing for a focus on governance and progress at other times. “We appeal to all of you to invest in Telangana,” he said, presenting the state as a promising destination for growth and innovation.
