Telangana activist and RTC labour union leader Junnoju Ravinder passed away at the MGM Hospital in Warangal. Ravinder had been ill and receiving treatment in Hyderabad and Warangal. He had shown leadership qualities since his student days and was involved with left-wing sentiments. During his time at Huzurabad Government Junior College, he worked closely with the district secretary of the People’s War Group, Masani Ravinder. Ravinder faced arrests and torture due to his association with the Naxalites and harassment of his family by the police. After completing his education, he became a driver in RTC and held various positions in the trade unions. He also served as the Sarpanch of his hometown’s Gram Panchayat and played an active role in the statehood movement. Ravinder’s contributions to the Telangana movement in Huzurabad and Karimnagar district are unforgettable. MLC Padi Koushik Reddy, Huzurabad MLA Eatala Rajender, and several other activists expressed their condolences.
