    Hyderabad: After inaugurating the Telangana Martyrs Memorial, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao honored the families of the martyrs on the same stage. He felicitated the families of the six martyrs. The event took place in an emotionally charged atmosphere. The families of the martyrs were present as witnesses to this significant moment.

    Firstly, the family of Srikanthachari was honored by KCR. Then, Shankaramma, the mother of one of the martyrs, was honored by KCR. Srikanthachari had sacrificed his life on November 29, 2009, during a petrol bomb protest and Shankaramma bid farewell on December 3rd. Later, the police constable Kishthayya’s family was honored. Kishthayya’s wife was also honored by KCR. Kishthayya had committed suicide by setting himself on fire with a petrol can and lighter. Following that, the family of Venugopal Reddy was honored by KCR. MC College student Venugopal Reddy had committed suicide on the Osmania University campus. Yadireddy’s family was also honored by KCR. Yadireddy had self-immolated near the NCC gate in the Legislative Assembly premises. After that, he marched towards Delhi to protest against the Parliament. Following that, Suvarna, a resident of Ummadi Mahabubnagar district, committed suicide for the cause of a separate Telangana. Her family members were also honored by KCR. The Telangana government paid homage to the families of the martyrs by placing their photographs in the martyrs’ gallery.
