Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu Discusses Tech Growth and Future City Vision at IAMPHENOM
At the IAMPHENOM event in Hyderabad, Telangana’s IT Minister, D. Sridhar Babu, spoke about the state’s progress in technology and infrastructure. He highlighted how Telangana has integrated data centers from over 12 major companies into its Digital Operations Model (DOM). The minister stressed the importance of addressing energy needs to support these data centers, sharing that the state is updating its energy policy to balance the growing demand from both the tech industry and local communities.
The minister also outlined Telangana’s focus on growth beyond Hyderabad. He pointed to the potential in rural areas and Tier 2 cities like Adilabad, Bheemli, and Nalunda. To support these regions, the state government is laying underground fiber networks, ensuring strong internet connectivity across almost all areas. This initiative aims to create opportunities and connect local talent to global technological advancements.
Sridhar Babu urged companies to invest in these underdeveloped areas, emphasizing the state’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure and resources for sustainable growth. He shared that Telangana’s future plans include developing “future cities” with advanced infrastructure, smart city features, world-class educational institutions, and international data management centers. These initiatives aim to build a global-standard ecosystem for businesses and residents alike.
In his closing remarks, the minister thanked HR executives and teams for their efforts in recruiting top talent for the state. He underlined that Telangana’s success depends on a combination of technology, innovation, and inclusive development. The government’s vision is to ensure growth not just in urban centers but also in rural and Tier 2 areas, creating opportunities for all.
