The Telangana High Court has approved the BJP Mahadharna event after the police denied permission for the protest at Indira Park Dharna Chowk. The BJP approached the court, which has now given the green signal for the protest. The dharna will take place on Tuesday and will be led by BJP Telangana state president Kishan Reddy.
The government argued that allowing the dharna could disturb law and order, but the court pointed out that when the state government staged a protest against the Centre, law and order was also disrupted. The court questioned why the government couldn’t provide security for at least 5,000 people. Eventually, the High Court granted permission for the BJP Mahadharna, with a limit of 500 participants and no rallies allowed.
