The Telangana State government has announced that they will be waiving traffic fines for different types of vehicles. This includes a 80% waiver for two-wheelers and three-wheelers, a 90% waiver for TSRTC buses, and a 60% waiver for light motor vehicles and heavy motor vehicles. Once the payment is made, the remaining amount will be automatically waived.

The government made this decision because there has been a large number of pending e-challans in recent years, and many vehicle owners have not been able to pay them due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some vehicles, like two-wheelers and three-wheelers, have fines that are higher than the cost of the vehicle itself. To clear this backlog of traffic e-challans, the government decided to give discounts based on specific criteria.

On the e-challan portal, the total amount of pending traffic fines will still be displayed. However, depending on the type and model of vehicle, there will be a discount available.
