    Telangana Government Announces Future City Development Authority and Key Policy Decisions

    The Telangana Cabinet has approved the creation of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) to oversee the development of a 30,000-acre “Future City” between Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam highways. This major urban expansion will span across seven mandals and 56 villages, aiming to drive planned development and investment in the region.

    HMDA Jurisdiction Extended to Regional Ring Road

    In another significant move, the Cabinet has expanded the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) jurisdiction to include the Regional Ring Road (RRR). The newly extended area will cover 1,355 villages, 104 mandals, and 11 districts, incorporating 332 revenue villages into HMDA’s planning and development framework.

    Delimitation Discussion & Reservation Policies

    An all-party meeting will be convened, chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and senior leader K. Jana Reddy, to address the proposed delimitation of parliamentary constituencies and its impact on southern states.

    The Cabinet has also approved a draft Bill for SC sub-classification and expanded BC reservations to 42% in local bodies, education, and employment opportunities. This marks a significant shift from the previous 37% reservation policy for BCs.

    Empowerment of Women Through Indira Mahila Shakthi Mission

    Under the Indira Mahila Shakthi Mission 2025, the government has decided to:

    • Bring all women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under a single administrative structure.
    • Increase retirement age in Mahila Shakthi Sanghams from 60 to 65 years.
    • Lower the minimum age to join SHGs from 18 to 15 years.

    Development of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple & Tourism Policy

    Similar to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board, the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple will now have a dedicated management board, with necessary legal amendments being introduced.

    The government has also approved a Tourism Policy (2025-2030), which includes:

    • Development of 27 key tourist destinations across the state.
    • Aiming to attract investments of at least ₹15,000 crore.
    • Hosting the Miss World 2025 pageant in May, with participants from 140 countries, requiring extensive logistical and infrastructure planning.

    Recruitment & Infrastructure Developments

    The Cabinet has approved new job appointments, including:

    • 10,954 Revenue Officers (Grama Palana Officers) for revenue villages.
    • 361 posts in new revenue divisions and mandals.
    • 495 posts (330 regular + 165 outsourcing) for the Residential Schools Society.

    Additionally, the Gandamalla reservoir capacity has been reduced from 4.28 TMC to 1.41 TMC, as several villages are facing submergence issues.
