The Telangana Excise and Prohibition department has suspended Excise CIrcle Inspector Ajit Rai for carrying unaccounted cash in Greater Hyderabad. The police found Rs 6 lakh in his possession during checks for the upcoming elections. Ajit was carrying the money in his car.

According to the police, Ajit left SVM Hotel in Chengicharla in Medipally mandal of Medchal district with bundles of money in his car. During a vehicle check, the police discovered the unaccounted cash. They suspect that Ajit was planning to distribute the money to voters in support of a political party.

Since Ajit failed to provide valid documents for the money he had, officials filed a case against him and informed higher officials in the Excise wing. After a preliminary investigation, the Excise wing immediately suspended the Circle Inspector from his services. The police have started a thorough probe into the entire incident.
