Telangana has emerged as a top performer in the recently announced National Panchayat Awards by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The state has bagged a total of 8 awards out of 27. The awards were given to the panchayats for their outstanding work in different categories such as sanitation, water conservation, and women empowerment. This recognition is a testament to the state government’s efforts to promote and strengthen the grassroots level governance system in the state.

The awards were given based on the performance of the panchayats in various parameters such as infrastructure development, sanitation, water conservation, and women empowerment. The panchayats from Telangana that received the awards are from different districts such as Adilabad, Mahabubnagar, Karimnagar, and Medak. The state government has been actively promoting the participation of women in the panchayat system, which has resulted in several women-led panchayats winning awards for their outstanding work.
