Hyderabad: Telangana State Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. Jitender, has stressed the importance of taking strong actions to prevent any incidents caused by Maoist groups along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border.
He directed officers to work closely with authorities from neighboring states to improve security efforts and ensure the safety of the region.
On Monday, Dr. Jitender held a coordination meeting with top officials, including DGP Intelligence B Shivadhar Reddy, representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Greyhounds, and senior police officers from Telangana’s multi-zone-1.
During the meeting, the officers updated the DGP on the current situation of Maoist activities in the border areas. These discussions highlighted how Maoists are disrupting development in tribal regions and creating hurdles for progress.
Dr. Jitender emphasized the ongoing efforts of both the Central and State governments to provide essential services like education, healthcare, transportation, and other welfare programs to the tribal communities in these areas.
After the meeting, the DGP along with other officials visited the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam for a brief darshan.
This meeting showcased the State’s commitment to improving security and promoting development in the Maoist-affected regions, aiming to bring peace and stability to the border areas. Several local officials, including Chandrasekhar Reddy, district SP Rohit Raju, Mulugu district SP Dr. Shabarish, Bhupalpally SP Kiran Khare, Greyhounds SP Raghavender Reddy, trainee IPS officers, and others, were also present at the meeting.
