    Hyderabad:

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is taking strong action against illegal encroachments in Hyderabad, including those linked to his own family. Recently, notices were sent to CM Reddy’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, and other prominent individuals. These notices instructed them to remove unauthorized structures within the Partly Buffer Zone of the Durgam Cheruvu water body within 30 days.

This move is part of the government’s HYDRA project, which aims to protect water bodies and prevent illegal constructions. The initiative shows that the law applies to everyone, regardless of their status. In a recent tweet, a Telangana supporter shared a conversation with the CM, where he emphasized his commitment to cracking down on illegal buildings throughout the city, including the Old City. He made it clear by saying, “Old city or any city, #Thaggedhele.”

When asked about possible illegal structures linked to his own family, CM Reddy stated that any such constructions would be demolished if found. This response highlights the government’s determination to enforce the rules equally for everyone, whether they are ordinary citizens or influential figures. A Twitter user with the bio “Telangana bhajana batch,” Naveena, commented, “The sense I got is, Rich & Prominent persons should be more scared of HYDRA.”

In addition to tackling illegal encroachments, the Chief Minister has also prioritized environmental conservation. He stressed that preventing sewage from entering the twin reservoirs and protecting lakes are top priorities for his administration. CM Reddy stated, “Anything in Full Tank Level (FTL), Buffer Zone, or lake area has to go,” emphasizing the government’s commitment to preserving the city’s natural resources.
