Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that the state’s Integrated Household Survey 2024, which includes a comprehensive social, economic, educational, employment, political, and caste enumeration, has received national recognition for its success. The CM made this announcement during a high-level review meeting, commending the meticulous efforts of the teams involved in conducting the survey.

The meeting took place at the Integrated Command Control Center and was attended by Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Damodar Rajanarsimha, Dhanasari Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Government Advisor K. Keshav Rao, former Minister Jana Reddy, Chief Secretary Shantikumari, and senior officials from various departments.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted that the household survey, conducted across the state, had captured national attention. He praised the officers for completing the survey successfully and confirmed that the data entry process has been finalized. A draft report is now ready for review.

The CM directed the Cabinet Subcommittee, led by Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and comprising six other ministers, to submit a report by February 2. He emphasized that the statistics gathered from the survey would greatly benefit the BC Dedicated Commission, which was established by the government to address the needs of backward classes.

Revanth Reddy stated that the caste enumeration would not only aid in social empowerment but also support the development of backward classes, Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), minorities, and other marginalized communities. He reaffirmed that the survey reflects the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people.

The survey, launched on November 6 last year, was completed across all districts by the first week of December. Supervised by the Planning Department, the massive effort involved nearly 100,000 enumerators, supervisors, and data entry operators.

Approximately 1.16 crore households were covered in the survey, with enumerators visiting each house to collect detailed information. Over 96% of household data was successfully gathered, and the entire data entry process has been completed.

However, officials reported facing some challenges during the survey. These included families refusing to participate, locked homes, and certain families being unavailable at the time of the survey. As a result, a small number of households were not included in the data collection.

The decision to conduct the caste enumeration was made shortly after the formation of the new government. A meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on February 4 led to this decision, and the government passed a resolution in the state assembly on February 16 to officially begin the survey.
