The state of Telangana is set to celebrate a significant milestone this Republic Day, as the Congress government gears up to launch four key welfare schemes on January 26. These include the Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Housing Scheme, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, and the issuance of new ration cards. The initiatives aim to drive rural development and strengthen the welfare framework in the state.

Under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, farmers will receive financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per acre annually. Additionally, landless agricultural laborers will be given Rs 12,000 each year to support their livelihoods. This initiative is expected to bring significant relief to the farming community.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who returned from Davos on Friday morning, held a meeting with ministers and senior officials to finalize preparations for the launch. The Finance Department has been instructed to ensure adequate funds are available so that the benefits can be directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible farmers and laborers. Officials estimate that the four schemes will require a budget of at least Rs 20,000 crore by the end of the 2024-2025 financial year.

Eligibility for the Rythu Bharosa scheme will differ from the existing Rythu Bandhu scheme, as new guidelines are being implemented. Only cultivable lands will qualify for assistance, and the Agriculture and Revenue Departments are working together to identify beneficiaries through data analysis and field surveys in villages.

For the Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme, the list of beneficiaries is expected to be finalized by Saturday evening. The government is utilizing data from various sources, such as the recent caste survey and applications submitted under the Prajavani programme, to ensure accurate selection. Similarly, for the Indiramma Housing Scheme and new ration cards, district administrations are conducting Grama Sabhas and thoroughly scrutinizing applications from eligible individuals.

To mark the launch of these schemes, the government has planned celebrations in every village across the state. Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, and local body representatives will participate in events in their respective constituencies. The Chief Minister is expected to attend the main program in his home district of Mahbubnagar.

The government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of these initiatives. Officials emphasized that the schemes are expected to address critical issues related to agriculture, housing, and welfare, making this Republic Day a memorable occasion for the people of Telangana. The successful rollout of these programs is anticipated to significantly boost rural development and enhance the state’s welfare framework.
