Hyderabad: The visit of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to New Delhi has created anticipation about a possible expansion of the state cabinet. Reports suggest that the cabinet could be expanded by the time of the Dasara festival.
During his trip, Revanth Reddy held a long meeting with AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal. They discussed various political matters, including the potential cabinet expansion and the activities of HYDRA, a new initiative in the state.
Currently, the state cabinet has 11 ministers, including the Chief Minister. It is expected that the cabinet might grow to 17 members, particularly by adding ministers from districts like Adilabad, Nizamabad, Ranga Reddy, and Hyderabad, which currently have no representation.
The AICC General Secretary also brought up concerns about the HYDRA initiative and the ongoing demolitions around the Musi river bed. He advised the Chief Minister to handle these issues carefully, considering the input of other ministers and senior members of the party.
Several names are being considered for the new minister positions. These include Vivek Venkatswamy, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Malreddy Rangareddy, Sudarshan Reddy, V. Srihari, Danam Nagender, Balu Naik, and Amer Ali Khan. It is believed that adding new ministers will make the administration more efficient, as the Chief Minister currently manages many key portfolios.
While in New Delhi, Revanth Reddy also met AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge. He inquired about Kharge’s health, as Kharge had recently fallen ill while campaigning in Jammu and Kashmir.
