Hyderabad: A joint meeting was held on Saturday between the Haj Committees of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to prepare for the Haj-2025 pilgrimage. The meeting took place in the Conference Hall of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat in Hyderabad.
The meeting was organized at the request of the Andhra Pradesh government. It was led by Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir and attended by Andhra Pradesh Minister for Law, Justice, and Minorities Welfare, N. Md. Farooq, who headed the AP delegation.
In his opening remarks, Shabbir Ali said that Telangana will make sure that all pilgrims, including those from Andhra Pradesh, who travel through the Hyderabad Embarkation Point, are treated with care and respect. He added that Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has given strict instructions to ensure that no pilgrim faces any issues during the journey.
Shabbir Ali also mentioned that the Telangana Haj Committee is fully ready to provide all necessary services and make the pilgrimage a peaceful and meaningful experience for everyone.
Minister Md. Farooq thanked the Telangana government for its warm welcome and said that about 1,200 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh will leave for Haj from Hyderabad this year. He promised full support and cooperation from the AP government to make the journey smooth for their pilgrims.
“We are thankful for the support and look forward to working together in unity and service,” Farooq said.
According to officials, around 12,000 pilgrims from 17 different States are expected to travel for Haj this year.
