Two students from Tejas Junior College and Defense Academy in Kothapalli, Harimnagar, have been chosen to compete in the Telangana Junior Athletics Championship. The event will take place at Osmania University in Hyderabad on September 19 and 20.
According to the College Chairman, CH Satish Rao, the students, M. Prem Kumar and P. Ram Charan, were selected because of their excellent performances at the district-level athletics selection trials. These trials were recently held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium in Karimnagar.
M. Prem Kumar earned first place in the Under-18 category for both the 1000 meters run and the shot put events. Meanwhile, P. Ram Charan won first place in the Under-18 long jump event.
On Wednesday, the college chairman and faculty honored the students for their achievements. Satish Rao encouraged them to continue their hard work and make the district proud at the state-level championships. “The college is proud of its students’ achievements, and we wish them all the best for the upcoming championships,” said Rao.
