Teachers' association calls for Election Commission to provide Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia for teachers' on-duty deaths.

The Telangana State United Teachers’ Federation (TSUTF) has asked the Election Commission to help the families of teachers and employees who died or fell ill during election training and on polling day. They want better treatment for those who got seriously sick.

Some teachers and employees, like Narasimha, Lakawat Ramanna, and Srikrishna, died while working during the elections. Porika Madhukar also got very sick and is being treated at Secunderabad KIMS. The EC guidelines say that families of teachers who die on election duty should receive Rs 15 lakh as compensation. TSUTF leaders want this money given quickly.

TSUTF leaders are also upset that some district election officers didn’t follow orders to pay all employees the same amount for their work during the election. They want everyone in the state to be paid equally. The union also wants action taken against police and officials who hurt teachers at Narayankhed reception center for asking about their pay. They met with CEO Vikas Raj to talk about these issues.
