The TDP, BJP, and JSP have agreed on sharing seats in Andhra Pradesh after three rounds of talks. TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar confirmed this, but there is no official statement from the BJP yet. Sources say the BJP will get six Lok Sabha and six Assembly seats in the alliance.
During a meeting between TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP president JP Nadda, they reached a consensus on seat sharing. The JSP, already allied with the BJP, will contest two Lok Sabha and 24 Assembly seats. The TDP will contest the remaining 17 Lok Sabha and 145 Assembly seats.
Previously, the BJP wanted more Lok Sabha seats, but Naidu offered only six. The JSP had been offered three Lok Sabha seats but will now have to give one back to the TDP. The TDP plans to contest in specific Parliament seats, while the JSP will focus on certain Assembly seats.
Leaders from BJP Andhra Pradesh are eyeing specific Lok Sabha seats, and former YSRCP MP K Raghu Rama Krishna may join the BJP. Details about Assembly seats and candidates will be clearer when Naidu and Pawan Kalyan return to the state. The official announcement of the alliance is expected later in the day.
