Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of Hyderabad emphasized the need to equip young people with the latest technologies to make them globally competitive. He recently met with representatives from Tata Technologies and officials from various departments to discuss providing job opportunities to the youth in the State through training in modern technologies.

To achieve this goal, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suggested introducing high-standard courses with hands-on experience in the latest technologies at Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). The aim is not only to provide employment opportunities but also to shape young people into entrepreneurs who can start their own industries.

The Chief Minister stated that it is important to train young people in modern and relevant courses instead of outdated ones. The State government is committed to supporting the upskilling of youth and welcomes Tata Technologies’ investment of Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 crore for providing employment-based industrial training. Tata Technologies will establish 4.0 skilling centers in the State and provide the necessary machinery, equipment, and software.

To facilitate this collaboration, a committee will be formed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Technologies. The Chief Minister agreed to Tata Technologies’ proposal to offer industry-oriented courses like industrial automation, robotics manufacturing, advanced CNC machining technician, EV mechanic, basic designer, and virtual verifier in government ITIs. Fifty ITIs have been identified for this purpose.

In addition to providing machinery and software for industry courses, Tata Technologies will also provide two master trainers in each ITI and free training for five years. They will offer 22 new short-term and 5 long-term courses to polytechnic and engineering students to increase employment opportunities in the manufacturing sector and technical workshops.

The Department of Employment and Labour is currently finalizing the MoU modalities in consultation with Tata Technologies. The State government is determined to support the youth in Telangana by providing them with the necessary skills and employment opportunities in the modern technological landscape.
