Hyderabad: The Tuberculosis Association of Telangana (TAT) launched its 75th TB Seal Sale campaign on Wednesday. The event took place at Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad. Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma, who also serves as the President of the association, inaugurated the campaign as the chief guest.
During his speech, the Governor stressed that tuberculosis (TB) is a completely curable disease. He urged everyone to work together to eliminate TB from the state. He mentioned the advancements in treatment options available through the National TB Control Programme, and encouraged patients to follow their prescribed treatment plans carefully.
The Governor also spoke about the importance of community involvement. He said that families and communities must come together to help achieve the goal of making India free from TB by 2025.
Additionally, the Governor praised the Tuberculosis Association of Telangana for its dedicated efforts in fighting the disease.
The event was led by Dr. T V Venkateswarulu. A new executive body was also announced with Dr. Sudhir Prasad and Dr. C N Prasad elected as vice-chairmen, and Dr. Balachander as the general secretary. Fifteen other members were also chosen as part of the executive committee.
