    Hyderabad: Just before Diwali, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, along with the Central Zone team and Saifabad police, discovered an illegal storage of firecrackers. They arrested a man and seized firecrackers worth Rs 5 lakh.

    The person arrested is G Sriram, a 31-year-old resident of Murad Nagar in Mehdipatnam. According to the police, Sriram was storing the firecrackers in a go-down located at Moghal’s Emami Mansion on Chintal Basthi Road, Saifabad. The firecrackers belonged to various brands and were stored in a residential area.

    Sriram, who works a private job, decided to store the firecrackers to make quick money during the Diwali season. However, this act posed a serious risk to the safety of the people living in the apartment.

    “He stored the firecrackers without a valid license and ignored the dangers it posed. Storing firecrackers in a residential area without safety measures can lead to serious harm,” said Y V S Sudheendhra, DCP Task Force.

    On receiving reliable information, the Task Force team, with the help of Saifabad police, apprehended Sriram and confiscated the firecrackers. The seized items and the arrested person were handed over to Saifabad police for further investigation.
