Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, conducted a raid on the TOS (Tales Over Spirits) pub at Road No 3, Banjara Hills, and discovered several illegal activities taking place inside. The police found that the pub was hosting obscene activities and violating multiple rules. During the raid, the authorities apprehended over 149 people, including 42 women.

The police revealed that the pub management was allegedly attracting young women with the promise of job opportunities. Additionally, the management offered commissions to those women who helped generate higher bills from customers.

Among those arrested were 42 women, who were arranged by the management, seven representatives from the pub’s management, 98 customers, and two business partners. The police also confiscated a DJ sound system, 187.5 liters of liquor worth about Rs 2.5 lakh, cash, swiping machines, and cell phones.

During the raid, the police discovered that the DJ music was being played at excessively high volumes, far above the legal limit. Inappropriate disco lighting was also being used. Several customers were seen dancing with women in inappropriate ways, while the women encouraged the customers to consume more alcohol. These activities were causing disturbances for other patrons at the pub.

Further investigation revealed that the pub did not have the proper licence to operate as a dance bar. It only held a bar and restaurant licence. The women involved did not know the male customers, indicating that the management had likely hired them to artificially inflate customer bills.

The police also noted that the pub management charged a high entry fee of Rs 1,000 for men, with Rs 500 included for alcohol. The pub was overcrowded, exceeding its legal capacity. The management’s conversion of the pub into a dance bar was seen as an unlawful attempt to attract more customers and increase profits.

The customers and the women involved have been handed over to the Banjara Hills police for further investigation. The police will take action against the pub management and those responsible for the illegal activities.
