Hyderabad, June 16 (Namaste Telangana): Another innovation has been introduced in the use of robots for firefighting by the Telangana Fire Department. A robot firefighter with the ability to move 360 degrees, faster than humans, and capable of entering even the most dangerous areas of fire was demonstrated by a company called Technocrat, which is a friend of the Fire DG.
The Director General of the Fire Department, V. Nagireddy, led a team of senior officials from the company that brought the robot firefighter to Delhi for a demonstration. The company's Director, Anil Mitra, explained that the robot can work up to a distance of 2 to 5 kilometers with its remote sensors.
V. Nagireddy stated that with a budget of Rs 100 crore, the government has already sent proposals to provide modern vehicles and other equipment to counter fire accidents. He also mentioned that they are examining the use of firefighting robots as part of government information.
During the program, Director General V. Nagireddy, Director of Fire Services Lakshminarayana, Additional Director Narayanarao, Regional Officer Harinath Reddy, DFVO Srinivas Reddy, ADEOs, company representatives Devendar, Raman, Manakesh, and Kishan Chaudhari were present.
Features of the Robot Firefighter:
This robot, developed with indigenous technology, can control flames up to a distance of about 90 meters. It can rotate 360 degrees and control flames. It is also heatproof and can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees.
The robot operates on a lithium battery and can continuously fight fires for approximately 6 hours. It can spray water up to a distance of about 20 to 30 meters. In jet mode, it can extinguish flames up to a distance of about 90 meters. Its remote sensors can work even at a distance of 2 to 5 kilometers.
