WEF | Telangana emerges as a global leader in agricultural technology research.. World Economic Forum praises

WEF | The World Economic Forum (WEF) has praised the use of PPP methods in other countries and states. It has released a recommendation for the utilization of technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain technology in accordance with local conditions. With controlled environments, new product tests and services such as certification have been introduced. This has encouraged farmers to have confidence and has promoted the adoption of new discoveries.

The Telangana government has established the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc) as a platform for agricultural data exchange. Data providers and users can directly exchange information, providing digital services to farmers and creating an ecosystem in Telangana.

Hyderabad, June 16 (Namaste Telangana): The World Economic Forum (WEF) has praised Telangana as a global leader in the adoption of 'agritech' technology in agriculture. With the implementation of 'agritech', along with the complete transformation of the agricultural sector, Telangana has been able to provide valuable lessons to others. The government has highlighted the need for assistance from governments for the expansion of 'agritech'. They have also emphasized the need for proper methods and the establishment of an ecosystem in Telangana. The WEF has released a recent plea stating that Telangana is following the best practices in agricultural methods.

In this regard, the Center for Nature and Climate Change at the WEF, along with IT Minister KT Rama Rao, have released this plea.

    Four Pillars

Telangana, being a progressive state in the country, has presented modern technology as a solution for rural areas. It has introduced PPP methods to promote digital agriculture, provide good solutions to farmers, and develop digital infrastructure. The WEF has mentioned four pillars as part of 'agritech': value chain transformation, agritech sandbox, agricultural data exchange, and agricultural data management framework.

    Recommendations in the plea

The plea clearly explains the methods that governments should adopt to provide assistance to farmers. It states that India has a large number of small and marginal farmers. The country is making great progress in agricultural production. However, due to environmental challenges and the influence of small farmers, 'agritech' expansion is facing obstacles. Telangana has been recognized as a global leader in providing solutions to increase farmers' income. The plea also highlights the need for proper agreements to be made to support farmers, establish good policies, implement them effectively, provide subsidies, and improve digital infrastructure. Other governments have been recommended to learn from the "Telangana Model" and implement similar policies.

    Conclusion

Telangana, being one of the most advanced states in the country, has shown the best ways to introduce modern technology to rural areas. The government has implemented the PPP method and, with the help of WEF, has developed proper methods for the adoption of digital agriculture. The benefits of 'agritech' have been extended to farmers through various services such as soil testing and prioritizing production. The state government is planning to reach one lakh farmers by 2025 through this program.
