Facing criticism for the sinking pillars in the Medigadda Lakshmi Barrage, Finance Minister T Harish Rao assured the public that the responsible agency would fix the issue within two months. He compared the minor issues in the project to those that can occur in a newly constructed house.
Harish Rao accused the Congress party of trying to stop the Rythu Bandhu scheme and called them anti-farmer. He highlighted that the scheme has been running for six years and credited Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for starting it, which was later copied by the Centre through the PM Kisan scheme.
Harish Rao also claimed that the Congress party knows farmers will not vote for them and is conspiring against them. He warned that their deposits will be lost and questioned why they would complain to the Election Commission about government schemes.
He brought up past broken promises by the Congress party, such as their failure to provide nine hours of power before the 2009 elections. He mentioned the concerns of Karnataka farmers who trusted the Congress party but are now facing power shortages.
Harish Rao demanded an apology from the Congress party for calling Rythu Bandhu a wasteful expenditure and urged them to apologize to the farmers in Telangana.
