District Collector Tejas Nand Lal Pawar has instructed election officials to ensure that the Teachers’ MLC elections on February 27 are conducted smoothly and without errors. A training session was held on Friday at the Collectorate for election staff, including Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Polling Officers (OPOs), and Micro Observers. Additional Collector P Rambabu was also present at the session.
Polling staff must arrive by 7:00 am on February 26 to check election materials. Pink ballot papers will be used for voting, and voters must mark their preferences using the violet sketch pen provided. Any incorrect markings will make the votes invalid. The voting process will take place from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and campaigning within 100 meters of the polling stations will not be allowed.
Each polling station will have four officials: a Presiding Officer (who supervises the process), an Assistant Presiding Officer (who marks voters), and two Polling Officers (one for applying indelible ink and another for assisting voters). To ensure security, mobile phones and weapons are banned at the polling stations. Once voting is completed, ballot boxes will be sealed and transported under strict security.
Officials must follow strict guidelines regarding challenged votes (Form 14), tendered votes (Form 15), visitor signatures, ID cards, and other security measures. These steps are being taken to ensure a fair and transparent election process.
