    The District Collector of Khammam has announced that a two-day survey will be conducted in Sathupalli Constituency and Bonakal Mandal to uplift the Dalit communities. This survey is part of the ‘Dalit Bandhu’ scheme, which will provide financial aid to Dalit families in these regions. The survey will be completed within the next two days, and eligible beneficiaries will receive Rs 10 lakhs each. A total of 30,065 Dalit families will benefit from this scheme, amounting to a total of Rs 3,006.50 crores.

    The survey will be carried out in 35 clusters, with dedicated officers overseeing the operations at the mandal level. In Sathupalli Constituency, there are 77,455 SC population with 25,143 families, while Bonakal Mandal has 14,567 SC population with 4,922 SC families. The District Collector emphasized the importance of selecting suitable units for economic development. He mentioned the success of a pilot project in Chintakani Mandal, where 3,642 Dalit families received financial assistance totaling Rs 412.50 crores.

    The District Collector urged beneficiaries to make informed choices in unit selection and stressed the need for efficient management by family members to maximize the impact of the scheme. The government’s objective is to enable Dalits to achieve economic prosperity and enhance their social status. The government is committed to eradicating economic and social discrimination faced by Dalits and guiding them towards development across all sectors. The ‘Dalit Bandhu’ scheme reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring the dignity and well-being of Dalits in society.
