The Supreme Court stopped a decision by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) that ordered ITC to pay a model Rs 2 crore for a bad haircut at one of their hotels. ITC appealed, and the court said that compensation should be based on evidence, not just requests. This is not the first time the case has been reviewed; in February, the Supreme Court sent it back to the NCDRC to review the evidence. The NCDRC reaffirmed its earlier decision in April based on emails and potential modeling contracts. The model claims she visited the salon at Hotel ITC Maurya, New Delhi on April 12, 2018.
