The motor trail run of the Sitarama project was successful last night. This project aims to provide water to the districts of Mahabubabad and Khammam. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao confirmed the success of the project, which has been in progress since last week.

The Sitarama project was started by the previous government to provide irrigation water to ten lakh acres at an estimated cost of Rs. 17,000 crore. Despite spending Rs. 7000 crores on the project, there have been land acquisition issues in certain areas, leading to incomplete construction of canals even though all motors are ready.
