There is a concern about possible water contamination that could affect Telangana and neighboring districts like Kurnool and Kadapa. This is because the Tungabhadra River, which flows into the Krishna River at Sangameshwar, could carry pollutants. Reddy warned that this pollution could extend to many parts of the former Mahabubnagar district as well.
Reddy also pointed out that with the world moving towards solar power and away from using fossil fuels like petrol and diesel, building an ethanol factory would not provide any significant benefits. He asked the authorities to stop the project early on and move it away from areas where people live. He warned that if this isn’t done, there could be public anger. The factory’s management was also told not to go ahead with the project under these circumstances.
Several leaders attended the event, including OBC district president Devadas, Rajoli Mandal BJP president Sanjeeva Reddy, and District Legal Cell Convener Gavvala Srinivasulu. Others, like W. Narsimha, Siddharth, Hemant, Teja, Naveen Shetty, Geeta Reddy, and Srinivasulu, were also present. They all supported Reddy’s position on the issue.
