The Telangana government has announced plans to build a ghat road and guest houses for the Durajpalli Jatara. The project will cost ₹60 crore and aims to improve facilities for devotees attending the event.
Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that Durajpalli Jatara is the second-largest fair after Medaram Jatara, with nearly 40 lakh devotees expected to visit. These new developments will ensure that visitors do not face difficulties during the fair.
On Wednesday, the Minister participated in the Lingamantula Jatara at Durajpalli in Suryapet district. He performed special pujas for the main deity and spoke about the government’s commitment to religious harmony.
He emphasized that the Congress government follows a secular policy by treating all religions equally. “Our government is secular, and we respect all religions equally. Our goal is to ensure justice for everyone,” he said.
Komatireddy also criticized the BJP, accusing it of trying to divide the country for political gains. He claimed that the party would go to any extent to secure votes.
The Minister further stated that the Congress party is becoming stronger in Telangana and is confident of staying in power for the next 20 years.
