NIMS, a public sector hospital in Hyderabad, has implemented a new robotic surgery system. This system allows for smaller incisions, which means patients recover faster and spend less time in the hospital. The system cost Rs 35 crore and was bought with a grant of Rs 154 crore from the Arogyasri healthcare programme.

NIMS is now competing with well-known private hospitals in terms of advanced healthcare facilities. The hospital has grown since the formation of the state and now has a bed capacity of 1,800. The Chief Minister has laid the foundation for a future 4000-bed NIMS hospital, which will make it the largest hospital in the country. NIMS is also a preferred choice for top-ranking medical students across India.

They have also acquired other high-end medical equipment like a DSA machine (Rs 13 crore), an MRI machine (Rs 9 crore), and a next-generation genome sequencing machine (Rs 7 crore). The hospital also has other valuable equipment like a neuro-navigation machine, anesthesia workstations, and fracture fixation sets.
