The Dalit Rights Struggle Committee will hold state-level meetings in Vemulawada from March 10 to 12. According to the committee’s state general secretary, Marupaka Anil Kumar, these meetings will focus on discussing Dalit rights and planning future actions.
A meeting was held in Khammam at Giriprasad Bhavan under the leadership of district convener Vengala Anand Rao. During the meeting, Anil Kumar pointed out that while there have been changes in the budget allocations for Dalit welfare since 2014, the funds have not been properly implemented.
He criticized the government for not even spending half of the allocated budget for Dalits. He demanded that the sub-plan funds be utilized correctly. He also emphasized that the government should not only increase the funds but also ensure their proper use.
Anil Kumar urged the Congress party to implement the Chevella Declaration. He also accused the BJP-led NDA government of being biased against Dalits. The meeting was attended by DRSC leaders including Jobu, Gopi, and others.
