Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced plans to set up a sports university in Telangana inspired by a leading sports university in South Korea. This decision was made after seeing how the South Korean university helped the country win 13 gold medals, along with several silver and bronze medals.

Revanth Reddy wants Indian athletes to compete effectively on the global stage, especially in the 2028 and 2032 Olympics. During his visit to South Korea, he and his delegation explored the Korean Sports University and learned about its facilities. They sought assistance from the Korean university to establish a similar institution in Telangana.

In addition to sports, the delegation visited South Korea’s Cheonggyecheon Stream Redevelopment and Han Riverfront Beautification projects. Revanth Reddy studied these projects to gain insights for the Musi Riverfront Development Project in Telangana.

He noted that, like the Musi River, a river in South Korea was once highly polluted but is now a tourist attraction. Revanth Reddy inquired about the processes used in developing and managing such successful riverfront projects.
