Two large leather parks will soon be developed in Telangana. State IT Minister Sridhar Babu has asked the Union government for support to establish these parks in Karimnagar and Jagtial districts.
On Friday, Sridhar Babu met Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi. They discussed industrial development, investments, and other important matters related to the state’s growth.
During the meeting, Sridhar Babu invited Piyush Goyal to attend the BioAsia-2025 event in Hyderabad on February 26. This event brings together researchers, policymakers, and industry experts from around the world in the field of biotechnology. The Union Minister praised Telangana’s efforts in biotechnology and assured his participation in the event.
Telangana has proposed setting up Mega Leather Parks (MLPs) in Rukmapur village, Karimnagar district, and Ghanpur village, Jangaon district. The state has requested financial support from the central government’s Department of Industrial Promotion Policy (DPIIT) for infrastructure, including Community Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs), which are essential for these parks.
Additionally, Sridhar Babu discussed the development of the Zaheerabad Node under the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC). He updated the Union Minister on the progress and requested quick approval of pending permissions and funds.
The Telangana Minister also informed Piyush Goyal that the state government will participate in the Osaka Expo in Japan in 2025. This will be an opportunity to showcase Telangana’s investment and industrial potential on an international stage. Sridhar Babu handed over an official letter from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy regarding the state’s participation in the event.
