Hyderabad Celebrates the Inauguration of a Unique Spiritual Garden
The Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) in Moula Ali, Hyderabad, has opened a special Spiritual Garden. The garden, named “Ashvini Upvan,” was inaugurated by Aparna Garg, Director General of IRIFM, and Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR).
The garden features two key attractions: constellation-based (Nakshatra) trees and a walking path inspired by the Five Elements, or Pancha Tatva. The name “Ashvini Upvan” is derived from Ashvini, the first star in the zodiac belt. The mini-forest includes trees such as cluster fig, pipal, asoka, arjun, neem, and others, each holding cultural and spiritual significance.
This serene space is designed to rejuvenate both the body and mind by encouraging a connection with nature. The walking path integrates the five fundamental elements of the Universe: earth, water, fire, air, and sky. These elements are represented by wood, water, pebbles, grass, and sand, respectively. Walking barefoot on this path is believed to provide therapeutic benefits.
During the event, Director General Aparna Garg explained the garden’s concept and its importance in fostering a bond with nature and the Earth. She highlighted how Indian tradition links specific trees to the 27 Nakshatras (constellations). Each tree is thought to have unique positive and healing properties. When these trees are planted together, they are believed to create an atmosphere filled with healing energy.
The Spiritual Garden is a remarkable initiative that blends nature, tradition, and wellness, offering visitors a peaceful retreat to reconnect with their roots and surroundings.
