The Government Railway Police in Hyderabad have formed a special team to investigate the fire incident on the Falaknuma Express. The train, which was running between Howrah and Secunderabad, had five coaches damaged by the fire near Pagidipalli railway station in Yadadri-Bhongir district. Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.

Bhooja Raju, DSP (Secunderabad Rural), Government Railway Police, stated that a case of ‘fire accident’ has been booked and the investigation has begun. Forensic Science experts have been called in to collect samples, which will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination. The cause of the fire will be determined once the report is received. Senior officials are overseeing the investigation directly.

The fire started around 11:30 am on Friday, close to Pagidipalli railway station, about 50 km from Hyderabad. It is believed that the fire began in the ‘S4’ coach and spread to the ‘S5’ and ‘S6’ coaches, causing heavy damage. Four other coaches were also partially damaged. Alert passengers pulled the alarm chain as soon as they noticed the fire, allowing the loco pilot to stop the train immediately. All passengers were able to escape before the flames spread, according to a senior officer from SCR.
