The fire started around 11:30 am on Friday, close to Pagidipalli railway station, about 50 km from Hyderabad. It is believed that the fire began in the ‘S4’ coach and spread to the ‘S5’ and ‘S6’ coaches, causing heavy damage. Four other coaches were also partially damaged. Alert passengers pulled the alarm chain as soon as they noticed the fire, allowing the loco pilot to stop the train immediately. All passengers were able to escape before the flames spread, according to a senior officer from SCR.
