    Hyderabad: The first-ever Azaan Competition for South India will take place on September 13 at Masjid Hasan in Balanagar, located on the Bangalore highway. This event is being organized by the MN Research and Educational Foundation and will run from 9 am to 9 pm.

    The competition is open to Muazzins from the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. To participate, candidates must be skilled in Tajweed (the art of Quranic recitation) and possess a melodious voice.

    Interested candidates are required to submit a video of their Azaan via WhatsApp to the number +91-6302845202 before September 6. The video must be a complete recording of the Azaan. Along with the video, candidates must include their name, age, mobile number, and location details. They are also required to carry an Aadhaar card or any other form of identity proof.

    The competition will be divided into two groups: junior and senior. The junior group is for participants aged 5 to 15 years, while the senior group is for those aged 16 to 35 years.

    Winners in both groups will receive cash prizes, certificates, and medals. The first-place winners will be awarded Rs 50,000, a certificate of appreciation, and a gold medal. The second-place winners will receive Rs 25,000, certificates, and silver medals. Those who come in third will get Rs 15,000, certificates, and bronze medals. Additionally, 10 incentive prizes of Rs 5,000 each will be given in both groups. Other selected Muazzins will receive Rs 2,000 each and a citation.

    A total of 25 Muazzins will be selected from the junior and senior groups for the semi-finals. Accommodation and food will be provided free of charge for all participants. Candidates from outside Hyderabad will also be reimbursed for their sleeper class train fare upon presenting their ticket.

    In the first semi-final, 13 candidates from each group will be chosen to compete in the final round. The judges’ decisions at every stage of the competition will be final and binding.
