    UAE-based retailer Lulu Group will be opening their first mall and hypermarket in Hyderabad, Telangana. The investment in the state is part of a commitment of Rs. 500 crore made by Lulu Group. The mall, located in Kukatpally, will have over 75 local and international brands, a cinema, food court, and children’s entertainment center. It will also have a 200,000 sq. feet Lulu Hypermarket that will offer fresh produce, groceries, and fashion, home appliances, electronics, mobiles, IT, and lifestyle products under the brand names Lulu Fashion Store and Lulu Connect. The mall is expected to open in August 2023 and will generate employment for over 2,000 people.

    Lulu Group will also be investing Rs. 200 crore in an integrated meat processing plant at Chengicherla with a production capacity of 60 tonnes per day that will generate employment for over 2,500 people. The company will also be committing to new investments of Rs. 3,500 crore in Telangana over the next five years. This includes the construction of a destination shopping mall in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs. 2,000 crore and mini malls in other major cities and towns in the state with an investment of Rs. 1,000 crore.

    In addition to this, Lulu Group plans to build an agriculture sourcing and logistics hub near Hyderabad Airport to facilitate exports and promote local Telangana produce across India and the world. Plans also include a seafood procurement and processing center to support the fishing industry.

    Lulu Group operates more than 250 hypermarkets and supermarkets across 22 countries and has been expanding rapidly in India with investments in food processing and retail projects in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Srinagar, Greater Noida, Varanasi, and other cities. With a workforce of over 65,000 employees from 42 different nations, Lulu Group has an annual turnover of USD 8 billion globally.
