In a letter to Vimala Rao, Gaddar’s wife, Sonia Gandhi expressed her sadness and said that Gaddar’s dedication to raising awareness through his music and commitment to his beliefs will be remembered. She also offered her thoughts and prayers to the family during this difficult time.
In another development, a letter circulating from the Communist Party of India (Maoist) expressed condolences to Gaddar’s family. The letter mentioned Gaddar’s 40 years of service, including his time with Jana Natya Mandali. It also noted that after officially resigning from the party in 2012, Gaddar chose a political career in the “bourgeoise parliamentary path.”
