A group of smooth-coated otters were seen at the jetty in Srisailam’s Pathala Ganga, arranged by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC). This caught the attention of the tourists. These otters live along the banks of River Krishna and their presence shows that the river ecosystem is healthy. When the water level rises or falls, these otters eat fish from the Srisailam reservoir. Usually, the otters avoid places with humans, but this time they appeared at the tourism department’s jetty and explored the area. Many tourists tried to take pictures of them.
