Miss World Contestants to Boost Telangana Tourism
Tourism Department Principal Secretary, Smita Sabharwal, announced that contestants from the 72nd edition of Miss World will visit different parts of Telangana. She believes this will help promote the state’s tourist attractions.
Telangana has an ambitious tourism policy, aiming to attract Rs 15,000 crore (about $150 billion) in tourist investments over the next five years. Sabharwal shared this information during a press conference on Thursday.
She expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting Telangana’s rapid progress in various areas. The state is known for advanced healthcare, ecotourism, medical tourism, sports tourism, and spiritual tourism. Telangana also offers attractive subsidies and concessions to encourage tourism investments.
Sabharwal welcomed the world to explore Telangana’s tourism sector. She described the people of Telangana as vibrant, humble, and rooted in their culture. She also spoke about Hyderabad’s rich history, once known as the wealthiest city in the world and a major center for the diamond and pearl trade. Iconic landmarks like Charminar and Laadbazar reflect this heritage.
In addition to its cultural significance, Hyderabad is home to major global tech companies like Microsoft and Google. The city is also a paradise for food lovers. Sabharwal assured that Telangana is a safe and exciting destination for travelers and invited tourists to visit with the slogan, “Telangana Zarur Aana” (Do visit Telangana).
