Around 45 people who came back from Sudan were put under quarantine in Bengaluru. They didn’t have certificates proving they got vaccinated for Yellow Fever. Health officials put them in quarantine for four days. The evacuees arrived at Kempegowda International Airport on Friday as part of ‘Operation Kaveri.’ This mission helped bring around 362 people back from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The airport officials also told the evacuees they had to pay for the quarantine. The first two flights to Mumbai and Delhi didn’t need vaccination certificates. But, the later flights to Delhi and Bengaluru needed the certificates. The Health Ministry says people coming from countries with Yellow Fever need to show their vaccination certificates. Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Republic of Congo, and Sudan are some of the countries at risk of Yellow Fever.
